If you are sincerely interested in moving outside of your country of origin you should explore what life is like as a resident there for a week or two before committing. Staying in a hotel is nice but, it does not give the true experience of staying in a home in the area of interest. Living as a local is less expensive then living as a tourist in a hotel. You can live as a local without a long term commitment, through a home exchange program. Not only does it make sense but it saves on the cost of one of your most expensive costs associated with a trip. We stayed in a Venice two bedroom home living as a Venician, a truly different experience from a typical hotel, and much less expensive. Meet neighbors and shop at the local stores. While you enjoy life trying out Panama, Ecuador, Costa Rica, Brazil, Spain, Italy, Greece etc. The home owner of the home you’re in, will be enjoying an experience in your home in New York, Florida, Colorado, California, etc. It’s a win/win, you save on hotels, and experience a more true expat experience in a foreign country, while allowing another to experience your country.
I'm providing two links to the leading home exchange programs. The cost to use their programs cost less then a night for a hotel in most cases.
